Best Visiting Artist Award for 'English Vinglish'
Gauri Shinde's debut directorial venture 'English Vinglish' starring Sridevi has won the Best Visiting Artist Award at the Cinema Society of San Diego.

Talented director Gauri Shinde has got another feather in her cap. Her debut directorial venture ' English Vinglish ' which marked the comeback of elegant artist Sridevi got many applauds and received rave reviews from the critics. The film also won many awards at various prestigious award functions. The film which narrates the story of a simple homemaker woman who strives to learn English for the sake of her children, has now won the award for Best Visiting Artist at the eminent Cinema Society Of San Diego.
Recently, the director of Cinema Society San Diago, Andrew Friendenberg made an announcement of the triumph of ' English Vinglish '. He addressed that "You Did it!" He said that ' English Vinglish ' has created the history. Friendenberg expressed that as the founder and director of Cinema Society of San Diego, he is proud to announce the winner of 2012-13 season's Best Visiting Artist Award is ' English Vinglish ' as chosen by their members. There was no other entry which received dominating votes than this film. Friendenberg congratulated the team of the winner film saying that he passes on his good wishes to the team of ' English Vinglish ' for its appearance, enthusiasm, professionalism and kindness at the 29th season finale of the Cinema Society of San Diago.
The film ' English Vinglish ' starring Sridevi in a lead role was produced by Hope Productions and Eros International. It was released in October last year.
