Kalki Koechlin has made India proud at the international platform after earning a standing ovation at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival for her rebellious performance in film 'Margarita, With A Straw'. Produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures , the film got screened under the Contemporary World Cinema category at the fest.
Ajit Andhare, COO, Viacom 18 Motion Pictures (VMP) gave vote of thanks with the following words- From ' Kahaani ' to ' Queen ', from ' Mary Kom ' to 'Margarita, With A Straw', VMP enjoys to produce strong, content led films that are headlined by some of the best actors in the industry. The production house is delighted to have two of their film- ' Mary Kom ' and 'Margrita, With A Straw' premiere at TIFF, while being so well received by the global audience.
'Margarita, With A Straw' is about a young romantic rebel Laila who embarks a journey on a wheelchair to seek love and acceptance.
The film has also been officially selected to get screened at the 58th BFI London Film Festival and the 19th Busan International Film Festival.
