Karan Johar officially locks the release date of Raazi!

Meghna Gulzar ’s ambitious project Raazi which is jointly produced by Junglee Pictures and Dharma Productions is one of the most anticipated films of the coming year. The movie stars the young and stunning actress Alia Bhatt along with the talented actor Vicky Kaushal in the lead. After updating the fans about the shooting schedule, the makers have now locked in a release date for the film. Since there are way too many releases, the filmmakers these days, book the release slot much in advance in order to avoid chaos and clashes.

Following the suit, Raazi makers have also locked in the release date which is 11 May 2018! #RAAZI starring @aliaa08 & @vickykaushal09 to release on 11th MAY 2018. The official handle of Dharma Productions tweeted: “@meghnagulzar @JungleePictures @karanjohar @apoorvamehta18.”

The film will see Vicky Kaushal as the Pakistani army officer and Alia Bhatt plays his wife. Reports also suggest that Alia’s character has layers and she essays a Kashmiri spy in the movie. It is a known fact that the film is based on Harinder Sikka’s novel Calling Sehmat and is controversial in nature. Currently, the film is in the shooting phase. Alia, Vicky, and the team are very excited about the film. Alia updated the release date with a cute Instagram story!

Talking about Raazi , Alia said in an interview that Raazi is a very challenging film and can be a career defining one for her. She said, “Actors want to do that one big Hindi film every year, but I want to do that one film that will completely challenge me and turn everything upside down. It happened with Highway, Udta Punjab, Dear Zindagi and now with Raazi. I am so scared and nervous to go on this journey, because of the kind of intensity of this character."
