Bollywood diva Kareena Kapoor has always been concerned with women's safety issue. The recent social scenario, in which multiple rape incidents are taking place has literally raised the question of women's safety in the society. In order to highlight this issue, Channel V has come up with 'VithU' mobile app, which is a Star Network initiative.

Reportedly, Kareena Kapoor has associated herself with this noble initiative and she has done this free of cost. Kareena would be probably the first celebrity to associate herself with a brand initiative without charging a single penny. The brand extension of Channel V, 'VithU' app is developed for the Android and iOS mobile platforms. The app features a 'panic button', which a woman can use when in distress.

GM & EVP of Channel V, Prem Kamath stated that "Created with the sole intention of aiding women's safety, the app has seen over six lakh downloads already. Also, with the kind of reach and influence that our TV channels have, we believe it is critical for us to create a social impact in every way we can,"

Kareena feels very optimistic about the use of this app and she said that "This app is a clever idea and since most of us use smartphones these days, it can really help prevent untoward incidents,"
