Kriti Sanon hated smoking for Bareilly Ki Barfi, says she's an anti-smoker!

Ashwini Iyer Tiwari’s upcoming film Bareilly Ki Barfi is creating quite a stir with the promotional stints. The posters and the official trailer which gave sneak peek into the three main character’s life was an appreciable one. The movie stars Kriti Sanon , Ayushman Khurana and Rajkummar Rao in the lead. It is touted to be a love triangle story with a lot of comic elements to flaunt.

Kriti’s character in the film is a quirky one. The actress completely breaks her girl next door image in this one as she plays a brat in the film. A small-town girl who smokes, drinks and is a break dancer who loves to watch English movies. Her character despite being beautiful gets rejected by prospect grooms due to her odd behavior. The trailer brings out Bitti as a strong woman in search for her Mr. Right that she thinks is the author of the book she read!

In a media interaction, Kriti clarified that she dislikes smoking and had to do it as her character demanded. She said, “I have always been anti-smoking. I never wanted to smoke. I did not like it even after doing it. But it was something that I had to do for the character. I didn’t want it to look fake, so I had to do it the right way. I could have opted just to do a mouth fag, but it wouldn’t have looked good on screen. When it comes to smokers, they can easily find out whether a person is actually smoking it or not. There are certain small nuances like how a person is holding a cigarette etc., that can also be spotted easily.”

Ayushman Khurana plays a printing press owner and Rajkummar Rao essays the author’s role. The film Bareilly Ki Barfi has been scheduled to release on August 18, 2017. Watch the trailer here:
