'Madras Cafe' can become tax-free
Filmmakers of \'Madras Cafe\' have applied for the tax-free status, so that the social-political "anti-terror" subject reaches out to maximum people.

In streak of tax-free movies like ' Chak De India ', ' Rang De Basanti ', ' Taare Zameen Par ' and the latest biopic ' Bhaag Milkha Bhaag ', there's political-thriller ' Madras Cafe ', which might join the series. The movie delivers social and political issues, therefore the makers are convincing government to make it tax-free, so that it could reach large masses.
A source close to the movie said that the film ' Madras Cafe ' starring John Abraham and Nargis Fakhri , opens a new chapter of Indian history, the assassination of former Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi. Also it makes the statement against violence and terrorism, therefore the film deserves a tax free tag.
Taking in note of opening of the film, the decision would be taken by the director Shoojit Sircar and John Abraham , whether to make it tax-free or not. Says the filmmaker, that ' Madras Cafe ' opening shows that audience have perceived it well. The word-of-mouth publicity is pulling more and more crowd to the theater. A film like this, should reach maximum number of people and if John Abraham is requesting for the tax-free status, then he is doing it exactly right.
Makers have applied for the tax-free status in many states, Maharashtra and Delhi being the first one. Confirming the news John Abraham said that he has applied for the film being tax-free and hopes to get positive development.
