Today Shahid Kapoor has kick started filming for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's forthcoming period-drama Padmavati . In this film, he plays the role of Raja Rawal Ratan Singh of Mewar.

Deepika Padukone, who portrays the role of Queen Padmavati in this film, filmed for a Rajasthani style dance, ghoomar. Ranveer Singh will be seen essaying the tyrant ruler Alauddin Khilji.
