A. R. Murugadoss's forthcoming directorial Akira starring Sonakshi Sinha in the lead is all set to hit the screens on September 2. Sonakshi will be seen performing action and she left no stone to make her character apt. The director Murugadoss planned to touch upon a real problem taking place in the city, the issue of acid attack to which many innocent girls fall prey to. Akira highlights the lives of these acid attack victims.
Talking about this, the lead actress Sonakshi said "A. R. Murugadoss has indeed touched upon the burning issue of acid attacks on innocent girls in some parts of our country. It is one of the most important plots in our film as Akira's father decides she should learn self-protection and enrolls her in a karate camp where as girls are generally sent to music or dance or handicraft coaching institutes. It is Akira's father who taught her to stand up for what is right, to not be dependent on anyone by herself."
Sonakshi is all set to promote the film Akira on various social platforms. The movie also features Konkona Sen Sharma and the filmmaker Anurag Kashyap in crucial roles.
