For any movie in the film fraternity, it is an honour receiving the ‘Tax-free’ tag from the state or central government as it represents how good your film is. Well, it might not be completely tax –free, but Akshay Kumar ’s upcoming comedy drama, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha , would be tax-exempted, meaning the entertainment tax on each movie tickets will be excluded from most the states governed by the BJP party. This is a great news for the makers of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha as it will bind to attract most of the audience to the theatre and get entertained while taking a good message home.
It is big deal for the team of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha , as the film takes a satirical take on the concept of open defecation in the rural area and an attempt to change the social norms for it, in order to raise awareness for the cause it is attached to. And a film with such a noble story and soul needed as much audience base as it could have, and now with such exemptions, there will be ample chance to garner more audience. Apparently, the message of toilets for rural households has impressed our Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which eventually led to this decision.
Most of the state governments are expected to take initiatives and make Toilet: Ek Prem Katha completely tax-free in their states. The film is directed by Shree Narayan Singh , starring Akshay Kumar , Bhumi Pednekar , Divyendu Sharma and also Sudhir Pandey in the casting. The film will be released on 11 August, in the theatre near you.
