Writer of 'Gangs of Wasseypur' Faces Threat to Life

Anurag Kashyap 's ambitious movie ' Gangs Of Wasseypur ' is all set to release soon. But Syed Zeeshan Qadri , the writer of this movie has landed himself in trouble by exposing the coal mafia in the film. ' Gangs Of Wasseypur ' is based on the backdrop of Wasseypur (a small town near Dhanbad in Jharkhand). The story revolves round the coal mafia that is active in this area.
Qadri himself has resided in Wasseypur for his entire life. Perhaps, this is the reason that he is aware of the coal mafia carrying out its activities in this region. From the time Anurag has announced the release date of ' Gangs Of Wasseypur ', Qadri started getting threatening phone calls. He has been threatened with life if he ever tried to return to Wasseypur. Currently, his family is in Wasseypur but he is in Mumbai. Sources reveal that he may have to settle in Mumbai with his family.
Earlier, people of Wasseypur had protested against the movie's title saying that it could ruin their reputation.
Although there are many real life characters in ' Gangs Of Wasseypur ', Anurag Kashyap has maintained his stand by clarifying that it's a work of fiction.
