Actor Pia Bajpiee once had treatment for myositis, and simply remembering those trying times makes her tremble. She also admits that she can connect to Samantha, an actor who just revealed that she has been diagnosed with the autoimmune disorder myositis and is taking a sabbatical from acting to heal.

PIA BAJPIEE SHARED:

Now that she has opened up about it, Bajpiee says she had a myositis scare in 2016, just before her debut film, Laal Rang. Even the concept of it is frightening because there is no treatment for it; only medications can control it,” she says. “Although I am not familiar with Samantha's situation, all of my prayers are with her because I am aware of what she must be experiencing,” the actor tells us.

She recalls a health scare she had in 2016: "Back then, I was sitting idle when I noticed a swelling in my foot, which I ignored thinking I twisted my ankle in the gym, but there was swelling in my other foot as well when I woke up the next day. I had bad muscle pain, which was just growing with time. I could not sit or stand up without wincing in pain."

The actor started to feel unwell at that point, so she went to the doctor, had some tests done, and the findings revealed that she had myositis.

"First, despite the doctor's best efforts, I was unable to understand what it was. At first, I wasn't afraid, but after reading about the symptoms and other details online, I became very afraid. I went to Mumbai by myself and kept my family in the dark as well. I used to wake up anxious that I might experience yet another ailment, claims Bajpiee.

PIA BAJPIEE TALKS ABOUT TRAVELING TO DELHI

She next travelled to AIIMS in Delhi, where all the tests were repeated. "I cried my heart out, but thankfully it didn't indicate that I had myositis. I believe there were conflicting accounts, but one thing is certain for me, those days were terrible.” She continues, "Even if it was only for a few days, I have experienced it. I can appreciate Samantha's situation and wish her the best.”

The actress even acknowledges that those few days helped her realise that the truest form of wealth is good health. And I no longer take it for granted, she adds.
