Balen Shah, the mayor of Kathmandu, has banned the showing of Indian films in the Kathmandu Valley. After the release of the highly expected movie ‘Adipurush’ it has been getting a lot of negative feedback from social media users, experienced actors, and other people who don't like how the filmmakers tried to modernise the story at the expense of its religious meaning.

The bad acting, bad visual effects, and bad lines have made people angry, and many have cancelled their reservations in the Hindi belt. Also, Sita's birthplace in Nepal, where she is said to have been born in the epic, was left out of ‘Adipurush’, which caused a lot of debate. Mayor Balen Shah said that they will not be allowed to be shown in the Kathmandu Valley because they might hurt Hindu feelings.

Even though details are still being worked out, the ‘Adipurush’ team has promised to fix the offensive conversation and address the public's concerns. But writer Manoj Muntashir's effort to explain the creative choices has only made more people angry on social media. Instead, many people want him to just apologise. Given that ‘Adipurush’ made a great hit at the box office on its third day, the situation has made people wonder if the Indian government could be involved.

With a budget of more than 500 crores, most of which went to visual effects, the movie needs to keep going strong during the week to make money back. The fate of ‘Adipurush’, which stars Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan, is still up in the air as the debate continues to grow.
