Indian 2, the long-awaited sequel starring Kamal Haasan, is once more making headlines. The regular shooting for the film, which will be helmed by Shankar Shanmugam, who also directed the first part, will start in September of this year. The filmmakers shared the good news by releasing a brand-new poster with Kamal Haasan reprising his role as Senapathy. The phrase "He is Back" is written on the image. According to sources, the drama's most recent schedule will reportedly take place on a large set built close to Parrys Corner in Chennai.

In this new schedule, key scenes involving the lead actress Kajal Aggarwal and actor Bobby Simha will be canned. Siddharth will also join the sets.

It is also known that Kamal Haasan will join the sets on September 5, 2022. In addition to this, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, and others feature in this highly awaited film. Indian 2 is being produced under the supervision of S Shankar, and it is being funded by Red Giant Movies' Udayanidhi Stalin in collaboration with Lyca Productions. The project has Anirudh Ravichander on board as the music director.

Following an accident on the sets in February 2020, which even resulted in the deaths of a few crew members, filming for the movie was put on hold. Earlier in an interview, Kamal Haasan explained why there was a delay in the shoot saying, “We had so many things coming in between, apart from the fact that it’s a very big film. We had COVID, we had an accident on the set where people died. It’s so unnerving but we continued."
