Is this the real reason behind Dhanush and Aishwaryaa’s divorce?
Tollywood superstar Dhanush on Monday shocked his fans when he announced separation from wife Aishwaryaa, ending their 18-year-long marriage. The couple has two children.
While sharing a statement on social media, Dhanush requested fans and friends to respect their decision and also asked for privacy.
While the news of them calling it quits came as a shock to many, friends already saw this coming some time ago. Some media outlets report that hectic work schedule, coupled with Dhanush and Aishwaryaa's individual life choices, may have led them to part ways.
“Dhanush is a workaholic. Anyone who knows him can tell that he puts his work before anything else. There have been many instances when his work commitments - travelling between cities and outdoor film shoots - have taken a toll on his family life,” a publication quotes a source as saying.
Another report quotes friends of the couple saying, “There were issues in their marriage, so the announcement of them choosing to part ways has not really come as a surprise to those who know them well.”
Under the condition of anonymity, another source divulged, “The lockdown has helped them review their state of marriage and their individual expectations from it. Aishwaryaa is very much into yoga, exercise, and has also developed a spiritual bent of mind. Staying married may no longer be a necessity or priority for her in this phase.”
Dhanush was most recently seen in filmmaker Aanand L Rai’s latest directorial Atrangi Re (2021), co-starring Sara Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar.
