Kamal Haasan is the biggie in south and he needs no introduction. His extravagant personality and ace acting skills have made him a superstar. The actor is in Mumbai currently promoting his upcoming pan-India film Vikram. During media interactions, he shared if Vikram was ever thought to be shot in all languages instead, the scope of Hindi movies in the South, and more.

He explained, "I'm always open to making double versions but my CEO and co-producer there were nervous that it shoots up cost price right. The actor's job is the worst part. Even if you take one shot which you double up for the other four, they have to pay everyone twice and they are concerned about that. Somebody like me, for example, made Hey Ram as a double version, that's why you will not find any linguistic discrimination because Manohar Joshi sir wrote the Hindi dialogues. And you can see the value of the writing without any filters. And I wrote the Tamil film, likewise, I wrote Vishwaroopam in Tamil and Hindi Atul Tiwari Saab. So it has its value. You are losing out on something while we gain one payment."

Furthermore he also briefed about language being a barrier and how it has been overcome. He said, "That there is still potential for Hindi films to grow in the South. The reason it is not growing is they aren’t coming closer, the linguist barriers are dropping it despite they watch Hindi. All this political drama on language will keep happening but artists and sportsmen are the people who keep breaking it. It doesn’t matter, Sachin Tendulkar is equally a hero to Tamilians living in from where I come, they can’t even pronounce a Hindi word. So it is like that. These people are great uniting factors.”

Helmed by Lokesh Kangaraj, Vikram also features Fahadh Faasil and Vijay Sethupathi. The movie is slated to release on June 3 this year.
