The most recent news about the film is that Bollywood star Jackie Shroff has joined the cast of the film. Jackie Shroff's first glimpse was posted online by the film's creators on Sunday. Sun Pictures and Nelson Dilipkumar are the companies behind the upcoming Tamil film production.

Sharing the look of Jackie Shroff, the makers wrote, “Jackie Shroff from the sets of #Jailer.” The creators had already revealed Tamannaah Bhatia, Telugu comedian Sunil, and actor Mohanlal's appearances. Along with others, the cast also features Malayalam actor Vinayakan, Yogi Babu, and Ramya Krishnan cameo appearances in the movie by Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar.
About the film
On Rajinikanth's birthday, a special teaser for the movie Jailer was launched, in which the cast's Muthuvel Pandian was first presented. Rajinikanth and Mohanlal will work together for the first time on a film under the direction of Nelson Dilipkumar. In the action film Jailer, Rajinikanth and director Nelson Dilipkumar work together for the first time. Anirudh Ravichander will create the movie's soundtrack.
