Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan look straight out of a fairy-tale in the first photo from their wedding
On Thursday, 9th June 2022, superstar Nayanthara and filmmaker Vignesh Shivan tied the knot in Mahabalipuram in the presence of their family and close friends. On his Twitter account, Vignesh Shivan shared the first photo from the wedding.
In the picture, Nayanthara wore a crimson bridal ensemble with green stone jewellery. Vignesh, on the other hand, wore a cream kurta with a traditional golden-bordered veshti to complement her ensemble.
Vignesh kissed her on the forehead while the two held hands.
Sharing the picture, the filmmaker wrote a heartfelt caption that read, “On a scale of 10…She’s Nayan & am the One With God’s grace, the universe, all the blessings of our parents & best of friends Just married #Nayanthara."
Vignesh disclosed that they planned to hold the wedding in Tirupati during a press conference on June 7. However, due to logistical issues, the event had to be moved to Mahabalipuram.
During a press conference, the filmmaker stated, “Initially, both of us wanted to get married in Tirupati. We had to change the venue from Tirupati owing to logistic issues. We wanted to call our friends and family members, and we couldn't take everyone there. So, we have to decide to get married, here, in Mahabalipuram.”
Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan began dating while working on Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in 2015, During an award ceremony in 2016, the couple confirmed their relationship.
