On September 30 of this year, Mani Ratnam's magnum masterpiece Ponniyin Selvan will be released in theatres, and movie fans cannot wait to see it. The historical drama's creators have already begun discussing the sequel even though there are just a few days remaining until the film's premiere. The director recently shared his plans for the follow-up to his big project during a press conference. According to a comment from him, the movie's second installment will be released in the next nine months.

Mani Ratnam reveals release date plans for Ponniyin Selvan 2.

On September 17, questions regarding the second half of the movie and its release date were put to Mani Ratnam at the Ponniyin Selvan press conference in Chennai. According to the filmmaker, Ponniyin Selvan Part 2 would be released six to nine months after Part 1. The film's creators are currently working hard to promote the movie before it opens. According to rumours, Ponniyin Selvan's digital streaming rights have reportedly been sold for a whopping Rs 125 crore. This is a major accomplishment for the picture, which had a sizable budget. Similar to that, Sun TV paid a hefty fee to purchase the satellite rights.

Ponniyin Selvan, a mythological drama is adapted from the same-titled book by Kalki Krishnamurthy. Two portions of the story, which feature a mixture of fictional and actual characters and events, will be adapted for the big screen. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will play Nandini, Vikram will play Aditya Karikalan, Karthi will play Vanthiyathevan, Trisha will play Kundavai, and Jayam Ravi will play Arunmozhi Varman in the project. Additionally, PS 1 will have substantial roles for Sarathkumar, Prabhu, Lal, Kishore, Ashwin Kakumanu, and Aishwarya Lekshmi.
