Sita Ramam: Rashmika Mandanna opens up on her character Afrin in Dulquer Salmaan’s film
The most recent Telugu film, Sita Ramam (2022), has been a critical and mainstream success, giving the industry of Telugu cinema reason to celebrate for the first time in a very long time. With only a week having gone since its cinematic debut, Sita Ramam has not only received glowing reviews but has also been a box office smash. Everyone enjoyed the time-traveling romantic drama that starred Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur, and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles.
Recently, Rashmika has divulged details on the film. In a recent interview with a local media outlet, Rashmika Mandanna discussed the film's popularity, her role in it, and upcoming projects. The actress stated in the interview that she recognised Afreen as an artistic type of character as soon as director Hanu Raghavapudi introduced her to her.
Mandanna's first violent character in her career is Afreen, and she found it tough and unfamiliar. She said, “Throughout my career, I have played only female lead roles. Sita Ramam had me in an atypical role where I had the scope to perform, too. It’s a unique character through which a great story is narrated.”
The actress thinks it's important to push herself and work on films that break down stereotypes. Rashmika Mandanna aspires to play a range of roles as an actor.
