With his most recent film, Vikram, Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan experienced his greatest commercial triumph in a career spanning more than six decades. The film, which Lokesh Kanagaraj wrote and directed, opened in theatres on June 3 and played there for 50 days in Tamil Nadu. Will Kamal's normal style of movie change as a result of Vikram's success? Kamal has had his share of colossal box office flops. In an interview, Kamal Haasan firmly rejected the question while referring to the audience as "a multi-headed monster."

The Megastar said, “One day, they would just like to eat curd rice, the next day they would feel like eating chapati and gravy and the day after that, they would just feel like having tender coconut. Even if you offer loads of chappati and gravy, they are not going to eat it that day. That is why Charlie Chaplin described the audience as a multi-headed monster, as he didn’t understand what to feed it.”

Further adding, he warned that any small amount of criticism that can start with the production crew could grow and ultimately harm the movie's chances of being successful. “Today they liked my movie, I don’t know why. They may not like my next film. And for that, I will be solely responsible. We can’t blame them. Who else should I hold responsible? They should understand my excellence. They should feel guilty for setting mediocrity as a standard,” said Kamal.

All eyes are currently focused on his upcoming movies. According to rumors, Kamal Haasan is in discussions with H Vinoth, known for the films Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru and Valimai. They are said to work together on a political movie. Official confirmation of the same is still pending. In September, Kamal Haasan will resume filming for filmmaker Shankar's Indian 2. For three weeks, he will travel to the US to prepare for his new post.
