Actors leaving shows midway is not something that we have not heard of before, but when the news of Jigyasa Singh quitting Thapki Pyar Ki came out, it did surprise many.

Singh became a household name after essaying the character Vaani “Thapki” Chaturvedi Pandey on Sol Productions and Shoonya Square Productions’ hit show. And when the makers returned with Season 2 after the great success of Season 1, they roped in Singh again to take the show forward.

After playing Thapki for several years, the actress has now quit the show due to health issues. Her sudden exit has led to the entry of actress Prachi Bansal who is set to play the new Thapki on Thapki Pyar Ki.

Ask Bansal about how she is feeling to be the new face of Thapki Pyar Ki, and she says, “Honestly, I am very nervous. I will try my best to live up to the expectations of the makers and the audience. I want people to accept and like me as the new Thapki. Today (14th February) is the first day at the shoot for me and the team is warm and welcoming. Everyone is helping me, especially the director sir, who is guiding me through every scene. Thapki stammers and to get it right is a huge responsibility. It’s quite difficult for me to cope with it.”

Bansal adds that she will approach the character of Thapki her own way. “No two actors can have a similar approach to a character. Of course, the character of Thapki has forged a strong connection with the audience and is well established. So, I will try to follow what is expected of the character but I will do it in my own way. I can’t copy the previous actor,” she said.
