Nia Sharma, who debuted on Television with the show Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai in 2011, has never shied away from expressing herself freely. Over the years, she has cemented her position as a versatile artist with an unconventional choice in terms of choosing roles.

Recently, Nia opened up about getting slut shamed by people she called friends and how her clothes became a topic of discussion and judgement for them.

"People told me, 'Why do you walk naked in award functions?' Naked to maine English mein bol diya, mujhe toh Hindi mein bola gaya tha (I said this is in English, but I was told that in Hindi) and by my friends," Nia said.

The actress wondered what kind of people judge their friends on the basis of what they wear. "Shouldn’t friends be encouraging each other and allowing them to flourish and live their lives in the best way?," she asks.

For starters, Nia Sharma has starred in popular shows viz. Zee TV's Jamai Raja as Roshni Patel, Colors TV's Ishq Mein Marjawan as Aarohi Kashyap and Naagin 4 as Brinda Parekh.

In 2020, she participated in Khatron Ke Khiladi – Made in India and emerged as the winner. Sharma entered the digital world in 2017 with Vikram Bhatt's web series Twisted. She was last seen in the second season of her web series Jamai 2.0, which released digitally on ZEE5 in March 2021.

As of July 2022, she is a participant in Colors TV's dance-based reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10, which is judged by Madhuri Dixit Nene, Karan Johar and Nora Fatehi.
