Rakhi Vijan reacts to rumours of playing Daya ben in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah
For quite some time, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (2008) has been making headlines. In 2017, Disha Vakani, who played the famous Daya ben had to quit the show in the wake of her pregnancy. The actress, though, hasn't returned since. Daya ben's absence from the show has had an impact on the show's TRPs.
Daya's comeback to the show was confirmed by the show's producer, Asit Kumarr Modi, a few days ago. He did, however, announce that Disha Vakani will not be reprising her role as Daya ben. Fans were taken aback by the news, as everyone loved Disha. Asit Kumarr Modi also informed that the search for a new Daya ben has begun.
Since then, a slew of celebrity names has been circulating as to who would be the new Daya. Actress Rakhi Vijan was recently rumoured to be coming on board to play Daya Ben.
Rakhi finally reacted to the rumours on Instagram. The actress revealed that she will not be appearing on the show. She shared a photo of herself merged with Disha's and stated that the makers had not approached her. She wrote in the caption, "Hello every1..this news is a rumor..which shocks me..I haven't been approached by the producers or the channel."
Rakhi Vijan's role as Sweety in Hum Paanch (1995) was a hit. She has also appeared in shows such as Banegi Apni Baat (1993) and Dekh Bhai Dekh (1994).
