In 2015, siblings Anushka Sharma and Karnesh Ssharma produced their first film ‘NH10’ under their newly formed banner Clean Slate Filmz. Together, the duo put their weight behind diverse films and series like ‘Phillauri’ (2017), ‘Pari’ (2018), ‘Paatal Lok’ and ‘Bulbbul’ (2020). Now, Karnesh is all set to take a giant leap as a producer and entrepreneur by launching a streaming platform named Clean OTT which female-focused content would be created and curated for.

Clean OTT is expected to get an official launch sometime in the first quarter of 2023. The streaming platform will back both national and international content belonging to different formats like films, web-series and documentaries. Apart from showcasing shows and films produced by Clean Slate Filmz, the platform will also feature content by a large coterie of producers from India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

“I have always believed in the power of storytelling to move hearts and minds and I am conscious of the responsibility that entertainment platforms have in producing and promoting stories that do not endorse bias. For centuries patriarchy has governed storytelling, and as a man, I have always felt men play an equal part in shifting the narrative, conversation, and power shifts”, said Karnesh.

Apart from developing and curating content for Clean OTT Platform, Karnesh and his team at Clean Slate Filmz will continue to produce theatrical films and create shows and films for other streaming platforms. Recently, the company had $54mn deal with Netflix and Amazon Prime Video to create original content for them.
