Netflix’s Never Have I Ever, the coming-of-age comedy about the life of an Indian-American teenager, has been extended for a fourth and final season.

Maitreyi Ramakrishnan plays Devi, an adolescent Indian-American Tamil girl from Los Angeles, in Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher's series.

Kaling and co-creator Lang Fisher revealed in a tweet on Tuesday that the adolescent comedy drama had been extended for a fourth and final season.

Sharing the tweet, Mindy wrote, “Season 3 of Never Have I Ever is gonna drop this summer. Plus we’ve just been renewed for a fourth and final season, which we are absolutely thrilled about.”

Season 3 will premiere this summer, and the comedy has been given an early renewal by the streaming service to bring the plot to a conclusion. Season 4 is planned to begin production in the next few months, with a premiere date of 2023.

Devi's boy difficulties, adolescent desperation, and rivalry from a new Indian student were the subject of Season 2, which premiered in July 2021. She chooses to take on both Paxton (Darren Barnet) and Ben (Jaren Lewison) as significant others when choosing between them becomes too difficult.

The series's first season did well, with 40 million households turning in over the first four weeks. It also launched the career of newcomer Ramakrishnan, who went on to feature in Netflix's rom-com The Netherfield Girls and voice Priya in Pixar's Turning Red (2022).

Universal Television, in collaboration with 3 Arts Entertainment, Original Langster, and Kaling International Co-creator Fisher, is the showrunner and executive producers with Kaling and Howard Klein and David Miner of 3 Arts Entertainment. In the first and second seasons, Poorna Jagannathan, Richa Moorjani, Lee Rodriguez, and Ramona Young, as well as Jaren Lewison, Darren Barret, Sendhil Ramamurthy, and Megan Suri, play key roles.
