Anil Sharma's films Apne and Gadar are both timeless classics. While both films' sequels have already been announced, we've learned that Anil Sharma is planning to begin filming for Apne 2 by the middle of 2022.

"By the middle of this year, we hope to begin filming in Punjab and London," Sharma said.

The makers will announce the exact date as soon as possible. The writing for Apne 2 is finished, and casting for the remainder of the cast will begin soon. In the meantime, filmmaker Anil Sharma is working on Gadar 2

"They are already preparing for the film's second schedule, which will begin in March," says a source close to the project, adding that much of the timing is dependent on the COVID-19 situation.

Before the end of 2020, Dharmendra had formally announced a sequel to his 2007 sports drama Apne. Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, and Bobby Deol appeared in the first film, and while the trio will return in the sequel, they will be joined by Sunny's son Karan.

On the day of the news, the Border actor posted on Instagram, "Babaji ke aashirwaad aur aapke pyaar ki wajah se aaj hum vapas ek sath nazar aayenge. I count myself fortunate to have another chance to work with my father and brother, this time with my son."
