In 2018, Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana, Pankaj Tripathi, and Abhishek Banerjee collaborated on the film Stree, which became an instant hit due to its horror-comedy premise and the actors' performances.
Years later, the same production house released another film, Bhediya, starring Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon. However, we already know from that film that Stree is planning a comeback. And now, according to reports, it appears that Bhediya is also renewing for a second installment.
Jio Studios has officially announced the sequel to Varun Dhawan's Bhediya. The horror comedy, starring Dhawan in the titular character, follows Bhaskar (Varun), who transforms into a werewolf after being bitten by a mythological wolf. The film, directed by Amar Kaushik, received positive to mixed reviews upon its theatrical premiere in November of last year. The release date of Bhediya 2 in 2025 was announced at a Jio Studios event dubbed Infinite Together.
Jio Studios made a major announcement, featuring 100 films and web series, as well as Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki, Randeep Hooda's Inspector Avinash, and more. Stree 2 and Bhediya 2 were also included on the list. For the uninitiated, Shraddha Kapoor's Stree will be released on August 31, 2024.’
Varun Dhawan is now anticipating the release of his Nitesh Tiwari-directed film 'Bawaal' with Janhvi Kapoor, as well as the web series 'Citadel' with Samantha Ruth Prabhu. He is reportedly signed a film starring Telugu star Ravi Teja.
