A few days back, we had reported that Akshay Kumar has bowed out of 'Hera Pheri 3' and Kartik Aaryan has been roped in as his replacement. While it was being said that Akki declined to star in the project owing to creative differences with the team, the actor has finally come out and spoken at length about the same.
At the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit 2022 on Saturday evening, Akshay revealed why he walked out of 'Hera Pheri 3'.
"Yes, the film was offered to me. But I was not happy with the script and the screenplay. I have to do what people want to see and hence I backed out. Hera Pheri is a part of my life, my journey and I am really sad for not doing (Hera Pheri 3) as I'm really unhappy the way things shaped up," said a teary-eyed Akshay Kumar.
Expressing disappointment over the fact that the third installment couldn't be made foe all these years, Kumar adds that the Hera Pheri franchise will always be close to his heart.
Dude, He is such a pure soul that I just cannot see him being sad. Sir your fans are always with you in your every decision and Hera Pheri will always be remembered only because of OG Raju❤️???? #AkshayKumar #HeraPheri3 pic.twitter.com/keajZSsmpK— ????????????????????~ (IAmRahulAkkian) November 12, 2022ADVERTISEMENT
Noteworthy, after the news of Kartik replacing Akshay broke out, angry fans had trended #NoRajuNoHeraPheri on Twitter. Some had even called a boycott of the film if Akshay Kumar is not a part of the starcast.
On this, the 55-year-old star said, "Like my audiences, I am hurt too. I know they love me but I apologise to them, for I won't be a part of Here Pheri 3."
On professional front, Khiladi Kumar will next feature alongside Nushrratt Bharuccha, Diana Penty and Emraan Hashmi in 'Selfiee'. He will further play Lord Shiva in 'OMG - 2 Oh My God! 2' and star as Jaswant Singh Gill in the movie 'Capsule Gill'.
