It is not always the case that the audience would welcome you with open arms if you belong to an influential showbiz family with several superstars. If your film is not good, the audience can be really ruthless and reject it immediately.
The same happened with newcomer Karan Deol. Son of superstar Sunny Deol and grandson of legendary actor Dharmendra, Karan made his acting debut with Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas (2019), which his father directed for him. The film failed to live up to the expectations of the audience and tanked at the box office.
However, his family members, including uncle Bobby Deol, motivated him by citing his own example. The Love Hostel (2022) actor told him that despite having the biggest start to his career and delivering several hits and superhit throughout his career, he did not get work for three years.
The 31-year-old actor said, “Bobby chacha came up to me and he said ‘for three years, I didn't get any work. I had the biggest start to my career and I had the biggest of hits, but when things weren't working my way, things weren't’.”
Karan Deol will next be seen sharing the screen with his father Sunny Deol, uncle Bobby Deol, and grandfather Dharmendra in Apne 2.
