On February 6, the Indian entertainment industry lost a valuable jewel when Bharat Ratna awardee and legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar died of multiple organ failure. She was 92 years old. While the country is still reeling from her death and mourning her passing, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan paid a musical tribute to the legend on his verified Instagram account.
Salman shared a video of himself singing one of Lata's most memorable songs, 'Lag Jaa Gale.' "Never was, never will be anyone like you Lataji...," he captioned the video.
Earlier on Feb 6, the day when Lata Mangeshkar passed away, Salman took to Twitter to share a picture with the singer and wrote, "U will be missed our nightingale. But ur voice shall live with us forever ... #RIPLataji (sic)."
Lata Mangeshkar was cremated with full state honours on Sunday, February 6, at Shivaji Park in Mumbai. The funeral of the celebrated singer was also attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Several celebrities, including Shraddha Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan, and Aamir Khan, paid their respects to the iconic singer on Sunday at Shivaji Park. Lata Mangeshkar, for those who are unaware, was admitted to Mumbai's Breach Candy hospital on January 8 after being diagnosed with COVID-19 and pneumonia.
