The film's box office collection on day 16 crossed the 'Rs 1000 crore' mark globally and it is expected to touch Rs. 1100 cr in its lifetime run to emerge as the third highest-grossing Indian film worldwide.
Confirming the news, trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan wrote on Saturday evening on Twitter, "#RRRMovie enters the PRESTIGIOUS ₹1,000 cr club." He also tweeted, " ₹1000 cr+ club Indian movies. #Dangal #Baahubali2 #RRR."
RRR's collection for third Friday indicate its dominance at the box office. The hindi version of the film collected Rs. 5 cr nett on its third Friday and would be targeting Rs. 250 cr nett for this week.
On the other hand, John Abraham's Attack (2022) that released on April 1 has failed to counter the magic of RRR. The second week collection of Attack has been less than Rs. 50 lakh as the film didn't see a growth in numbers.
The number of screens alloted to Attack has also gone down significantly and the film is expected to wind up its run at the box office with a lifetime collection of Rs. 16 cr nett.
Presently, the upcoming week also seems smooth for the film, with only major new releases being Ghani in Telugu and Fantastic Beasts 3 in English. However, some big releases on April 13/14 from KGF Chapter 2, Beast and Jersey may challenge RRR's dominance at the box office. Watch out this space for more.
