Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is currently on a promotional spree for her upcoming film Ponniyin Selvan: 1, which has been directed by her mentor Mani Ratnam. While the trailer of the film has already created a frenzy among Ash fans, her sartorial choices for the promotional events are also making headlines.
Recently, for pre-release event of Ponniyin Selvan: 1 in Hyderabad, Aishwarya turned up in a breathtakingly beautiful red Anarkali. The red kurta featured with heavy gold embellishments and extremely intricate 'taar' work.
Aishwarya teamed up the kurta with a pair of matching red leggings, throwing a beautiful georgette dupatta with a heavy border for a final touch. Ornate statement rings, a beautiful kundan bracelet, gold necklace and earrings were the accessories that Aishwarya donned for her appearance at the pre release event.
The Jodha Akbar (2008) actress also shared pictures in the outfit on her official Instagram page, with a sparkle and a red heart emoji.

Now coming to Ponniyin Selvan: 1, the Tamil-language epic period action film is directed by Mani Ratnam, who co-wrote it with Elango Kumaravel and B. Jeyamohan.
Produced by Ratnam and Allirajah Subaskaran under Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions, it is the first of two cinematic parts based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's 1955 novel Ponniyin Selvan. The film stars an ensemble cast of Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R. Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Rahman and R. Parthiban. The music is composed by A. R. Rahman.
The epic drama is all set to release on 30 September 2022.
