Nawazuddin Siddiqui , who is busy with Anurag Kashyap ’s Sacred Games, will soon start shooting for the Balasaheb Thackeray biopic. The teaser of the film was released exactly 3 months before and now, the actor is all set to commence shooting for the biopic on the legendary man. The film will be directed by Marathi filmmaker, Abhijit Panse and will be made in Hindi and Marathi languages. The whole movie will be dubbed in English as well. Written by Sanjay Raut, the movie will go on floors from 25th March 2018.
Though Nawaz was not present at the teaser launch of the film, he had earlier said, “I am grateful that the makers chose me to portray the role of great personality, Balasaheb Thackeray, which every other actor aspires to do because of his persona and charisma, which was unmatched. I thank from the bottom of my heart to Mr. Sanjay Raut for believing in me and I am also thankful to Mr. Uddhav Thackeray, who gave me the permission to portray this great role. I am more than sure that our director, Abhijit Panse, will take the movie up to the mark.” Nawaz concluded saying, “Balasaheb Thackeray inspires me, and because of his love, I am able to do this role.”
The movie will hit the theatres on 23rd January 2019, on the occasion of the 93rd birth anniversary of Balasaheb Thackeray.
