News is there that two veteran actors are going to clash i.e. going to challenge each other; but not in real life but in reel life. They are confronting each other in theaters.
Actually two separate films of both the actors are going to hit the silver screens on the same day very soon. On one hand Happi is the film of Pankaj Kapur in which he is also playing the title role whereas 3 Thay Bhai is the film of Om Puri in which he is playing the character of the eldest brother.
Well, what makes this a news? There is some history behind it. Nearly three decades ago these two actors were seen in a classical film titled as Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro as two youngsters. This film had released in the year 1983. Thereafter these two actors never acted together; not because of any enmities but no producer or director signed them together.
Now after so many years i.e. nearly 3 decades, these two actors are coming together on silver screen but not in the same film but in two different movies so it is being said that both of them are challenging each other that let's see whose movies becomes successful.
Well, they don't believe in these things and believe that only good film will survive.
Both the films are going to be released on 15th April 2011.
According to a trade source, "While Pankaj Kapur would be seen in the title role of Happi , Om Puri is playing the eldest brother in 3 Thay Bhai . Incidentally both these films would be releasing on the same day i.e. 15th April",
"Is something like that really happening? That's some coincidence; really", comments Bhavna Talwar , who has directed the film Happi . She was surprised to know that both the films were releasing on the same date. She further said, "I guess we should all plan for a reunion party for our senior actors. We should be wishing each other luck and hope and pray that both these films are successful. To be separated for so long and then challenging each other through movies of your own doesn't happen every day."
