Multiple award-winning director Hansal Mehta , who is known for making gritty movies, has made an announcement that his next movie will be dedicated to the late actress, Sridevi . The 54-year-old actress, who was the first female superstar of the Indian film industry, died a sudden death on Saturday night. Her death has caused mourn all across the nation and the entire film industry is in a trauma. While the film fraternity has paid condolences to her family, director Mehta, who wanted to cast her in his upcoming film, announced that his upcoming film will be a tribute to the late legendary actress.
The director took to Twitter and shared, “There will never be another #Sridevi. I was about to approach her for a film. That film will now be dedicated to her. If it finds an actor.”
Sridevi was one of the most celebrated actresses of all time. She was not only the Queen of Hindi film industry but also ruled the Southern cinema. In a career spanning of almost five decades, she acted in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam language films and appeared in more than 250 movies.
The actress last appeared in the critically acclaimed film, Mom , and will be last seen on the big screen in Shah Rukh Khan ’s Zero , where she will have a special appearance.
