In April 2022, Kajal Aggarwal gave birth to her beautiful baby boy Neil Kitchlu. When she became pregnant in 2021, the actress took a hiatus from her career. The last time we saw Kajal was in the Tamil romance comedy Hey Sinamika with Dulquer Salmaan and Aditi Rao Hydari. Kajal, however, is now prepared to return to work. She stated she is still a part of Shankar's film Indian 2, starring Kamal Haasan, during an Instagram live session with Neha Dhupia. She also provided an update on the film's production schedule.
On the Instagram live with Neha Dhupia, Kajal Aggarwal confirmed the news saying “I am going to resume shooting for Indian 2 from 13th September.” This also means that the Shankar-directed movie has been given new life after being shelved for more than two years following an accident that claimed the lives of three technicians working on the sets. It was also put on hold due to a disagreement between director Shankar and production house Lyca.
Earlier, Kamal Hassan also gave a statement regarding the film. The Vikram star said, “We had so many things coming in between, apart from the fact that it’s a very big film. We had Covid. We had an accident on the set where people died. It’s so unnerving but we continued. Indian 2 will happen. We are all working on it. We are all talking to Lyca Productions. They are also keen to shoot. So now it’s just a question of getting everything together on the logistics front.”
The sequel to the wildly popular Kamal Haasan-starring vigilante action movie Indian from 1996 is titled Indian 2. After twenty years apart, filmmaker Shankar and actor Kamal reunite in the sequel. Siddharth and Kajal Aggarwal have important roles in the movie. The date of Indian 2's release has not yet been disclosed.
