Actor Yash, who is amping up for the release of KGF: Chapter 2, believes he deserves the least credit for the first installment's massive success. Yash said at the trailer launch of KGF: Chapter 2 on Sunday that his director Prashanth Neel deserves full credit for KGF's success. At the event, Yash also discussed his co-star in the film, Sanjay Dutt, and how his dedication to work left him worried about his health at times.
KGF: Chapter 2 is set for a worldwide release on April 14 in Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam. The film's main antagonist is played by Sanjay Dutt. Yash praised the veteran and acknowledged that he was concerned about his health during the trailer's premiere. He said “Sanju sir is a true fighter. I witnessed it first-hand. He has seen life. The way he committed himself to the project with all that he went through with his health, I was scared for him. He has taken the project to another level. I will always be a fan.”
Yash also praised the KGF 2 director for everything, he says “I am very attached to my industry. I should receive the least credit for my film. Honestly, I am happy we have done something with chapter 1. KGF happened because of Prasanth Neel. A lot of people give me credit, but it is bullshit. It is Prasanth Neel's film. He deserves all the credit. He can even make first-timers act as thorough professionals. And he loves his heroes and actors.”
KGF: Chapter 1 earned 250 crores at the box office, making it the highest-grossing Kannada movie of all time.
KGF: Chapter 2 will be released a day after Vijay's Beast, which will be dubbed and released in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. In response to a question about the box office clash with Beast, Yash stated, "This is not an election where somebody wins or loses by a single vote." This is filmmaking. It'll be KGF 2 and Beast, not KGF 2 vs. Beast. I don't see it as a conflict. My senior is Vijay sir. If I start thinking that my film is bigger than his, that's where I'll go wrong.”
Both films, he claims, will entertain audiences. He further says, “As a Vijay sir fan, I’ll watch Beast. I’m also sure his fans will love KGF 2. Both the films will entertain.”
