After much anticipation, season 2 of the Emmy Award-winning and most popular show Delhi Crime is finally out. In the second season, Shefali Shah has returned to captivate hearts once more. The first season made history by being the first Indian show to take home the Best Drama Series honor at the International Emmy Awards last year. In addition to Shefali, Rajesh Tailang, Rasika Dugal, Tillotama Shome, Adil Hussain, Sidharth Bhardwaj, Gopal Datt, Anurag Arora, and Denzil Smith all appear in Delhi Crime 2.
The show starts out with four murders. In a South Delhi home, two elderly couples are bludgeoned to death. The housemaid finds their bruised bodies the following morning. Action is taken by DCP Vartika Chaturvedi and her team. Instead of a traditional whodunnit, what happens next is a tedious and compelling grind that is occasionally halted by setbacks and dead ends.
The show puts domestic strife front and center amid the hustle and bustle of a challenging crime investigation. With a teenage daughter who is disobedient, DCP Chaturvedi (Shah) has her hands full. The daughter of Inspector Bhupendra Singh is someone with whom he has trouble. ACP Neeti Singh is forced to choose between her professional obligations and her husband, an army officer, who is on leave and wants her to take a break from work.
The serial murders and the hunt for the perpetrators remain the focus of the show at all times. The case that DCP Chaturvedi and her team are trying to solve is depicted with a dash of approaching realism, with unexpected results.
