Jaideep Ahlawat reported for his duty as Hathiram Chaudhary, the cop who has disinterred the maze of Delhi’s dishonesty and politics from the first season of the web series Paatal Lok. Reprising his role for the second installment might be easy for an actor. At the same time, he has shared his opinion on getting back to this cop duty.
Jaideep thinks it is nerve-wracking to revisit the character. He says the reason behind it is that the popularity of Hathiram’s character always interferes with his effort to approach the character. According to Jaideep Ahlawat, "Knowing [about the popularity of his part] can sometimes inspire dread. Because of the elevated expectations placed on the persona, you start to feel responsible.
He adds to his words, “You have to return to the feeling you had when you had first performed the role. At that time, there was no pressure. I didn’t even know how many people would like it; I was just lost in character."
He thinks it is impossible to portray such rawness of a character for the second time. He is keen to recreate the feeling that accompanied him when he first stepped into the dark, grimy world of the Amazon Prime Video series, which has captured fame for him through such a character.
The actor is seeking appreciation for his film, ‘An Action Hero’ alongside Ayushmann Khurrana. According to the action comedy signals, filmmakers trust his mainstream projects, “I like this [faith] where people think that if I am in a project, it would be interesting. Directors and writers now have more faith in my ability to carry off a role, regardless of the plot. People have a better attitude toward me."
