As much as ‘Adipurush’ made a buzz at the time of its announcement, the Prabhas and Kriti Sanon starrer film has not been appreciated too much after the poster launch and the teaser release. The magnum opus stars Prabhas as Lord Ram, Kriti Sanon as Sita, Sunny Singh as Laxman, and Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh.
A lot was spoken about the makers using poor VFX, post which the director planned to reschedule the release after re-working on the same. There were many takes by netizens who commented on the makers not following the looks of the characters as per ‘Hindu’ mythology. Not only social media, the politicians also questioned the wrong portrayal of deities.
Now, the Om Raut directorial has landed into a fresh controversy for hurting religious sentiments of Hindus yet again.
A complaint has been lodged by Sanjay Dinanath Tiwari, who describes himself as a preacher of Sanatan Dharma, at Mumbai's Sakinaka police station. According to reports, Om Raut has inappropriately projected Lord Ram and an official F.I.R has been lodged under Section 295 (A), 298, 500, 34 of the Indian Penal Code.
As per the complaint, the new poster portrays Maryadapurushottam Lord Shri Ram played by Prabhas in a new costume without Janeu, which has a lot of significance in the Hindu Sanatan Dharma.
The film is slated to release on June 16, 2023.
