Despite the usual timeframe of 6-8 weeks for a theatrical release to transition onto OTT platforms, ‘Jailer’ is set to make its digital debut earlier than expected. Reports suggest that the film's makers inked a deal with Netflix for a 4-week window, potentially leading to an OTT release in the first week of September. Notably, the movie premiered in theaters on August 11, 2023.
If these reports hold true, the OTT release could potentially impact the movie's ongoing success at the box office. ‘Jailer’ has been soaring at the box office, establishing itself as a blockbuster by amassing an impressive collection. The film's Indian box office earnings approach the Rs 300 crore mark, while its global earnings are inching towards Rs 600 crore. On its 14th day in theaters, ‘Jailer’ added nearly Rs 3.65 crore to its domestic collections, reaching a total of Rs 295.65 crore. It is anticipated to cross the Rs 300 crore mark shortly.
