Sanjay Gupta, a filmmaker, has been effusive in his admiration for Jawan and Shah Rukh Khan. He has now stated that it is premature to celebrate Bollywood's return. While blockbuster films like ‘Jawan’ and ‘Gadar 2’ have provided comfort to exhibitors, the filmmaker believes that the industry will truly revive when small and mid-budget films also lure viewers to theatres. He claims that just 5-6 film shoots take place in Film City anymore, whereas 50 shoots were place before to the epidemic. He stated that actors are sitting at home and that there is an air of sadness in producer offices.
Sanjay Gupta expressed concern after viewing ‘Pathaan’. He claims that a producer must spend at least Rs 200 crores to make a major spectacle film like that. He believes the producer should also bring together industry heavyweights. He claimed that even a romance like ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani’ was a big-budget production with top-tier actors. Sanjay Gupta predicted that audiences will return when a combination of films performed well in theatres. The filmmaker stated that nowadays, producers begin applauding one another if a film receives an opening of Rs 4-5 crores and a lifetime of Rs 75 crores is deemed a superhit.

According to Sanjay Gupta, there is nothing to rejoice. He stated that exhibitors were aware that the dull phase would resume in a few weeks. With the success of ‘Gadar 2’ and ‘Jawan’, he claims that there is no profit for the industry. He claimed that the only people profiting from the project are those who have invested in it. Gupta, on the other hand, praised Shah Rukh Khan for his dedication to his job and films. He said that King Khan never emphasized his movie earnings. Instead of paying his market worth, Shah Rukh Khan advises producers to invest in the film. He described himself as brave for supporting Atlee's proposal.
Sanjay has also described him as a man with a backbone. He claims that Indian fans are avoiding any film that they believe they can watch on OTT. Crowds are only drawn to large spectacle event movies starring big actors.
