Oh No! Bawaal: Varun Dhawan - Janhvi Kapoor's Film OFFENDS Jewish Human Rights NGO; Will They Take Down The Movie? (Details Inside)

The final scene of Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor's new movie, 'Bawaal,' is controversial because it is based on the horrible conditions at the Nazi death camp Auschwitz. This has shocked and upset people on the internet. In this scene, Dhawan and Kapoor, who play the two main characters, think about what it would be like to enter the gas chamber while wearing coloured clothes. The fact that Hitler is used as a metaphor for greedy people makes the movie even more controversial.

As soon as the movie came out on digital screens, people on social media were quick to criticise the people who made it. They said that comparing Hitler's killing of Jews to a couple's marriage problems was both tone-deaf and offensive. Many people thought it was wrong to use the sad historical event as a 'plot device' in the movie to make people feel something.

The Simon Wiesenthal Centre (SWC), a major human rights organisation that works with Holocaust survivors and victims, spoke out against the movie and asked Amazon Prime to take it down. Rabbi Abraham Cooper, Associate Dean of SWC and Director of Global Social Action, was upset by how insensitively the Holocaust was shown in the movie. He said that Auschwitz is not a metaphor, but rather a horrifying warning that people can be bad. Cooper said that the filmmakers, especially Nitesh Tiwari, treated the memory of the 6 million Jews who were killed and the millions of other people who suffered under Hitler's genocidal rule with disrespect.

Even though there was criticism, some people on social media liked the movie and said it was moving. But the anger and calls for the film to be taken down outweighed the good reactions.

The people who made the movie defended it by saying that no one found anything wrong with it and by pointing out the good feedback they got. They decided to release the movie on over-the-top (OTT) platforms because they thought the story could connect with a wider audience.

'Bawaal' has caused a lot of controversy because of the way the final scene uses Auschwitz and Hitler as metaphors. Some people supported the movie because it made them feel something, but others, like the Simon Wiesenthal Centre, said it made the horrors of the Nazi Holocaust seem silly. As the issue keeps getting more attention, it is still unclear what will happen to 'Bawaal' on Amazon Prime.
