Take a look at Priyanka Chopra’s post lauding Iranian women’s courage!

Taking to her social media, Priyanka shared the note writing, "Women in Iran and throughout the world are speaking out, shaving their heads in public, and taking part in other forms of protest in support of Mahsa Amini, a young woman whose life was cruelly taken by the Iranian Morality Police because she was wearing her hijab 'improperly. The voices that finally speak after long periods of coerced silence will deservedly erupt. Your bravery and your goal inspire me. It is difficult to take an actual life-threatening risk to oppose the patriarchal system and defend your rights. However, you are brave ladies who do this every day at their own expense.."

About Mahsa Amini’s death

Mahsa was detained on September 13. She was taken into custody on suspicion of flouting Iran's strict laws requiring women to dress modestly and wear hijabs. Authorities stated that Mahsa passed away "of natural causes" after three days in a coma, but campaigners believe she actually died from a lethal blow to the head. Following the tragedy, tens of thousands of Iranians have protested Mahsa Amini's passing on the streets over the past two weeks. By shaving or cutting their hair in public or while being videotaped, women from all over the world have expressed support for the plight of Iranian women at rallies and protests.
