The Trefoil uses Ranveer’s allure to democratise access to culture, revive the streetwear aesthetic in high fashion, and inspire the following generation of icons.
The collection's release is backed by a campaign in which Adidas Originals takes over a historically significant Opera House setting with a throwback aesthetic. The images, which were captured by Errikos and House of Pixels, disrupt conventional ideas of exclusivity by contrasting traditional surroundings of luxury with Ranveer’s lighthearted antics as he guides viewers through his trip from the green room to the stage.
Every choice Ranveer makes throughout the movie challenges preconceived ideas of exclusivity and luxury. He reframes events that are often privileged with inclusion by hacking them. He upends social norms about clothes, reinstating the streetwear aesthetic in fashion. Ranveer chuckles, taking in the glow as dazzling spotlights fall on him, "The greatest you can be is an Original."
