Vicky Kaushal is getting ready to star in his next film, ‘The Great Indian Family’, starring Manushi Chhillar. The movie, which is being helmed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, is scheduled to open in theatres on September 22. There has been a lot of hype online about the movie thanks to the teaser and the upbeat song ‘Kanhaiya Twitter Pe Aaja’. A video of the actor taking part in Mumbai's most well-known Dahi Handi event in Ghatkopar is currently going viral on social media ahead of the film's premiere.
Vicky Kaushal could be seen happily breaking the Dahi Handi in a video posted on Instagram while it was pouring heavily outside. The actor, who was actively taking part in the dahi handi celebrations, was dressed in a traditional white patterned kurta. He exuded joy. He enjoyed the celebrations enthusiastically and maintained his positive attitude despite the weather. During the festivities, Vicky Kaushal was also seen doing the hook dance from his song ‘Kanhaiya Twitter Par Aaja.’

Previously, in an interview, Vicky Kaushal spoke about Dahi Handi celebrations. He said, “Growing up in Mumbai, Dahi Handi was more than just a celebration. It was all about the spirit, unity, and unbreakable bonds of the people. I always felt that the human pyramid formed to break the ‘Handi’ is a powerful metaphor for resilience and unity. This festival reflects India’s spirit. I am extremely delighted that this year, I get to be a part of that infectious vibe and celebrate it with such enthusiastic kids. This will definitely take me down my childhood memory lane when I used to go with my family for the local Dahi Handi celebration.”
The ‘Great Indian Family's’ first teaser, which gives a glance inside the humorous family drama, was unveiled by the film's creators on August 14. In the teaser, Vicky talks eloquently about the importance of family ties but breaks down in tears while describing his strange relatives. After warning the audience about ‘The Great Indian Family,’ he shifts his tone and compares his family to a "snake" that could destroy his dreams.
