Vicky Kaushal and Tripti Dimri to star in Dharma Productions next romcom

After announcing Govinda Naam Mera with Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, and Kiara Advani, Dharma Productions is planning to raise the curtain on yet another project soon. If fresh reports are to be believed, Karan Johar has signed Vicky Kaushal for yet another romantic comedy. Joining the Masaan (2015) actor on the cast of the untitled film will be Tripti Dimri who received widespread acclaim for her power-packed performance in Netflix’s Bulbbul (2020) last year.

According to reports, the upcoming film has been in development at Dharma Productions for quite some time now. Filmmaker Anand Tiwari, whose streaming show Bandish Bandits (2020), received great response from critics and audiences alike, is onboard to direct. He will also co-produce the film via his banner Still & Still Media Collective.

Kaushal and Dimri are expected to commence work on the film in February next year as Tiwari is presently busy with his Amazon Prime Video film starring Madhuri Dixit. He will begin preparing for his film with Dharma Productions only after wrapping up his current project.

Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal has his plate full with several exciting projects, including RSVP Movies’ Sam Bahadur, Yash Raj Films’ untitled family drama with Manushi Chhillar, and Maddock Films’ yet-to-be-titled rom-com with Sara Ali Khan.

Tripti Dimri, on the other hand, is looking forward to the premiere of her much-awaited Netflix film Qala with Babil I. Khan. She plays an important role in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal with Ranbir Kapoor. Dharma Productions has signed her for one more film that sees her alongside Ishaan Khatter. Anubhuti Kashyap is attached to direct the untitled flick.
