One of the most eagerly anticipated films in recent memory is Shah Rukh Khan's next feature, Jawan. South superstar Vijay Sethupathi will play a villain in the action thriller alongside Shah Rukh, as is already known. Nayanthara plays a pivotal role in the film which is being directed by Atlee.
Now, according to sources, Vijay has demanded a colossal sum of money—reportedly 21 crores—for the pan-Indian film. This is possibly the highest sum Sethupathi has ever demanded for a movie. According to some estimates, his prior pay was 15 crores, but the phenomenal success of his most recent film, Vikram, and the praise he received from all quarters persuaded the seasoned actor to raise his pay.
In order to be a part of this action-packed venture, Vijay reportedly even declined two offers from other projects. Vijay didn't mind skipping other films because his character in Jawan has such an impact. In the movie, the popular actor plays Shah Rukh's main antagonist.
According to earlier media reports, SRK and Atlee were eager to cast Vijay Sethupathi after Rana Daggubati dropped from the movie due to scheduling conflicts caused by his poor health. Sethupathi and Shah Rukh had long been tremendous admirers of one another, so when Shah Rukh personally gave Sethupathi this role in Jawan, he couldn't refuse.
