Aditya Chopra is one of the eminent directors who have contributed to Bollywood. Like father, late director Yash Chopra,Aditya too is one among the pioneers who have revolutionized Indian Cinema.

Born on 21st May, 1971 Aditya is the eldest son of Yash Raj and Pamela Chopra. He studied in Bombay Scottish School.He graduated from Sydenham College of commerce and economics along with batch mates Karan Johar,Anil Thadani and Abhishek Kapoor. Aditya is known to keep himself away from shutterbugs and hardly appears in public.

Aditya married his high school girlfriend Payal Khanna when he was 30. Payal is an interior designer and has designed for Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai. The couple divorced after 8 years of marriage. Aditya had developed an extramarital affair with Rani Mukherjee prior to divorce.Payal was the daughter of an old friend of Yash Chopra and was dear to Pamela too. This led to conflict between parent and son.Aditya was rumored to have engaged with Rani in a private ceremony.

Chopra started his film career as an assistant director to his father at the age of 18 in films like 'Chandni','Darr' and 'Lamhe'.At the age of 23, Aditya directed the landmark Blockbuster movie 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge' whose script he had developed since five years.Chopra also convinced Brother Uday Chopra and first cousin Karan Johar to assist him in the movie. Karan also acted in the movie.The movie won the National Film Award in the category of best popular Film Providing Entertainment.Aditya's next Directorial came after five years in the year 2000 with 'Mohabbatein' which also revived the career of Amitabh Bachchan.He also introduced brother Uday, who made his debut with the movie. Aditya's third directorial was 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' which came in the year 2008.Other than direction Aditya had been a very active writer and had written script or stories for various movies like 'Dil To Pagal Hai', 'Hum Tum', 'Dhoom', 'Veer-Zaara', 'Bunty Aur Babli', 'Salaam Namaste', 'Fanaa', 'Dhoom 2' And National Award winning 'Chak De India' all were produced by YRF Banner.

Aditya will produce 'Dhoom 3' which is slotted to release this year in December.
