Anees Bazmee Biography

Anees Bazmee is a renowned film director and writer of Bollywood. He is known to have delivered several multi-starrer hit comedy movies in his career.

Bazmee began his career in 1988 with the movie 'Hum Farishte Nahin' as a dialogue writer. Then he took a break and came back as a writer for David Dhawan's 'Swarg' starring Rajesh Khanna and Govinda. Thereafter, he and David Dhawan, who is known as a comedy film director worked together for a number of movies. Till 1995, Bazmee had written scripts for more than ten movies which also include the 'Bluffmaster','Aankhen'.Bazmee's directorial debut was 'Hulchul' starring Ajay Devgn and Kajol which failed in many aspects. But still Bazmee did cast the pair in his next 'Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha' which proved out to be a box office hit. After it, he went for a five year break and in 2002, came back with 'Deewangee', which performed averagely. But his next 'No Entry' (2005) gave him the much needed boost as the movie was a commercial hit.He maintained this success with 'Welcome' and 'Singh Is Kinng'. In 2011, he directed Salman Khan Starrer 'Ready' which went houseful.

Bazmee's next projects include 'It's My Life', 'No Entry Mein Entry' and 'Hera Pheri 4' which is actually the third installment of 'Hera Pheri'.
